Frequently Asked Questions

What is coactive coaching?
“Coactive coaching holds that people are naturally creative, resourceful and whole – completely capable of finding their own answers to whatever challenges they face. The job of a Co-Active Coach is to ask powerful questions, listen and empower to elicit the skills and creativity a client already possesses, rather than instruct or advise.” (read more at CTI)

Is this therapy?
Coaching is not therapy. Therapy generally deals with the past and attempts to heal past issues and gain learning from them. Coaching focuses on the future. Where are you now and where do you want to go?

“But why would I want or need a coach?”
We all have dreams whether it is as simple as having 30 minutes all to yourself or as big as climbing Mount Everest. But we also all have the negative voice (or many voices) that tell us we can’t have it (‘not until’… the house is clean, the project is complete, the kids finish school, I lose 20 pounds, … etc).
A coach helps you push aside those voices so that you can take steps toward your dreams now. Life is short, so why wait?

What is a Discovery Session?
A discovery session is an opportunity for the coach to get to know you to better understand the path you are on. It is also an opportunity to design the alliance between coach and client.

Where are the coaching sessions?
Most sessions are conducted over the phone.
